We are currently seeking a dedicated and organised individual to taken on our Payroll Officer(Trainee) role. You will gain hands-on experience while being supported to gain a qualification in Payroll Administration or Business Administration, all while being part of a dynamic, supportive aged care organisation.
About the Role
As a Payroll Officer (Trainee), you’ll be working closely with our experienced Payroll team to assist in the efficient and timely processing of our fortnightly payroll using Aurion Payroll and Humanforce Rostering systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the calculation and processing of various payroll components, including leave types, timesheets, termination payments, and Workers Compensation
- Maintaining confidential employee data and personnel files with accuracy and compliance
- Supporting payroll reporting and internal auditing activities
- Responding to payroll and earnings-related queries from staff and management
- Contributing ideas and feedback to improve payroll and rostering procedures

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

To work for Eldercare, you are required to have a police clearance valid for working in aged care (unsupervised contact with vulnerable people) and the clearance needs to be less than 12 months since date of issue.
As per Eldercare’s Employee Immunisation Policy, all Eldercare employees are required to:
- Be vaccinated against seasonal influenza by no later than 1 June each year
- Be vaccinated against COVID-19 as per current ATAGI guidelines
Exemptions on a temporary or permanent basis can only be approved by Eldercare’s Chief Executive.
