About the Role
As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for providing reliable, high-standard maintenance services across Eldercare’s residential aged care facilities. Working collaboratively with the Property Services team, you will contribute to maintaining safe, comfortable, and well-presented environments for residents, while delivering responsive and courteous customer service that supports their wellbeing and satisfaction.
- Deliver a wide range of hands-on maintenance services across Eldercare’s residential aged care facilities — including general repairs, minor plumbing, painting, gardening, and equipment upkeep.
- You will ensure all activities comply with legislative and accreditation standards, including fire safety requirements.
- Working closely with site staff, you’ll manage maintenance workloads, budgets, and systems effectively, using the Maintenance Request System to track and report tasks.
- Support audits, provide technical guidance to staff & oversee contractor performance.
- Work on the on-call afterhours maintenance service roster at the agreed times (3 x 1 week blocks per year).
What You Will Bring
- Proven experience in a comparable maintenance or facilities role, with aged care experience considered advantageous
- Proficient in IT systems and applications relevant to facilities operations
- Familiarity with Test & Tag procedures; training can be provided if required
- Demonstrate a proactive, solution-focused mindset with a strong work ethic
- Approachable, courteous, and service-oriented in all interactions
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with effective time management
- Enthusiastic about developing comprehensive knowledge in Facilities Management
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build respectful relationships across a diverse workforce and resident community
