About the role:

  • Permanent part time - 45.6 hours per fortnight (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Based at our Day Therapy Centre located in Hendon
  • Provide quality clinical assessment and intervention to our clients within a large multidiscplinary team

Eldercare's Day Therapy Centre is embarking upon an exciting period of change and growth. A rare opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to deliver clinical services including hand therapy and home assessments.

We are seeking a permanent, part-time Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologist, Speech Pathologist and Podiatrist, providing reablement and restorative care to older adults in the local community.

Your role will see you conduct Home Safety Assessments, comprehensive clinical assessments, develop creative treatment plans, and contribute to aspirational client goals. At your disposal are individual treatment rooms, plus a beautifully appointed, open plan gym and staffed reception.

Working closely with the rest of the multidisciplinary team, you will also be supported by an experienced Manager. Regular face-to-face supervision and ad hoc support will allow you to excel in your role, and to develop your career. You will also contribute to exciting service development initiatives and growth strategies.

Previous experience in a Community or Aged Care environment is desirable. 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and current full AHPRA registration
  • Sound experience in conducting clinical assessments and developing treatment plans
  • Previous working experience in conducting Home Safety Assessments and associated reporting 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for delivering person-centred interventions
  • The ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
  • A valid drivers licence, roadworthy vehicle and mobile phone

To work for Eldercare, you are required to have a police clearance valid for working in aged care (unsupervised contact with vulnerable people) and the clearance needs to be less than 12 months since date of issue.
